What's for dinner?



If you need help trying to answer that daily question, join the Family Nutrition Program class.

Family Nutrition Program can help you:
· Stretch your Food Assistance

· Improve your shopping skills
· Learn how to make delicious, low cost meals
· Improve your health by eating better
· Make meals more fun with new recipes

Cost:  FREE to low income participants

Classes need a minimum of 5 participants.

Participants who attend all classes will receive a cookbook and kitchen utensil.

Dining with Diabetes



Dining with Diabetes is a five-session course designed for people at risk of diabetes or who have diabetes, as well as their family members.

Through this class you will learn:
  • How to prepare healthy meals using less fat. 
  •  How to make meals using less sodium and sugar without reducing flavor and enjoyment.
  • The causes of diabetes.
  • Tools for managing diabetes.
  • The importance of diet and exercise in managing diabetes.
You will also have the opportunity to sample a variety of healthy foods and take home recipes so that you can make them yourself.

Class Time & Dates:  1-3 pm on October 25, November 1, 15 & 22 with follow-up February 7, 2013
Location: Demo Kitchen, MSU Extension Lenawee County, 1040 S. Winter St., Adrian
Cost: $10 per person included Sampling Menu and Cookbook
